I read what you said about feeding coral. If I feed my fish a variety of foods, ( flakes, bloodworms, tubex & shrimp ) will my coral get the nutrients they need? I have button coral, blue mushrooms frogspawn & ( though not a coral ) a large sea annenome.

I have only a 10 gallon reef tank. The live stock are a clown, a shrimp, a crab, the sea anenome & a multitude of snails. I feel twice a day, only what they can eat in 5 minutes.

IMO as long as your lighting is sufficient, your corals will get what they need through photosynthesis and feeding isn't otherwise necessary. This assumes your corals are photosynthetic (not tubastrea or sea fans, for example).

As long as you are not experiencing algae outbreaks, I suppose your feeding is under control for the time being, but twice a day in a 10 gallon tank might be a bit excessive.

    Good luck. :)

i found the easiest way to feed a sun coral. i take a mardi gras cup (short fat cup that holds about two cups of water) and i put it in there. then i put him down in my sump in the dark and wait for him to open up. once he does i simply put the mysis in the cup with a turkey baster. then you use the turkey baster to swish the water around in the cup and he does the rest. i repeat the swish procedure every few minutes until he has grabbed all of the mysis. once he has swallowed all of the food i put him back in the dt and pour the water in the cup down the drain. he is so use to this that as soon as i put him in the cup he opens up almost immediately.
