I just purchased my first feather duster two days ago, and he seems to be stretching out of his tube. He is "planted" in live sand, with a medium current, "blowing" left to the right (see image). Is this stretching because he is not worried about predators, doesn't like the area, or something else?

Leaving the tube is a stress reaction. It does like the spot or your water quality.

mine seem to do best in lower flow area's attached to the rock when first introduced, then they dont care where they are as long as they are protected and not being blown around a whole bunch
