I just started my salt water tank 3 weeks ago. So far I've added 2 clown fish, 2 pink tip anemones, and a fairy basslet. I got the fish all together and a few days later after having my levels checked added the anemones. Well for about 4 days now I haven't seen the basslet. I can't see it anywhere. Any suggestions as to what might have happened to this little guy?? He hasn't come out for feeding in 3 days:(. Could the anenmome eaten it?

Sounds like maybe he could have died. 3 weeks running and you already have a lot of fish and anemones. What size tank, how much live rock, what are your params. Give us some more information to help us. He may just be hiding ive had fish had for more than a week at a time before I see them again.

    yeah i agree with ryan...

if this is a new setup he might have died... i would recommend check your water again just to see if anything has changed sometimes that can indicate a dead animal in your tank...

your anemone could have eatin it...

    or it's hiding

    or it's dead

also check the floor around the tank and behind the tank... if you have an over flow check there as well...

    good luck

and post up your tank info and water parameters

its got cycled i bet like the rest will be. Good rule of thumb is AFTER THE CYCLE add 1 fish every 2-3 weeks or so.

Ok.. Thanks so much for all the advise!!! It's a 60 gallon. I have 56 lbs of live rock. I had the levels checked before adding the anenomes. I guess the tank could have spiked again???? I've checked all around the tank too!!! Thanks again for the help. I actually didntknow anenomes would eat other fish. My clown fish love them and swim in them all day!!! I will keep you posted if I find him or if he decides to pop out!!!

Make sure u check ALL around, I once found my 6 line around 10 feet away from the tank. But I would put my money on the tank recycling before jumping in this case. Just make sure you don’t put any new fish in for at least 2 weeks, let the tank settle down.
