    I have a 101 cm long tank with 10cm on each side before hitting the wall, so my question is can anybody suggest any good slim skimmers or even internal skimmers that do a good job but are not to pricey, has anybody heard of the weipro skimmers???

    I've heard of the weipro. Nothing specific. I dont see how they are any different than an ASM.

    I've been a fan of the Octopus skimmers lately. For the price they are great. I don't think you will get a better deal on an all CellCast acrylic skimmer.

    Octopus DNW-150 Needlewheel Recirculating Skimmer w/pump: Premium Aquatics

    This has a footprint of 6x15 inches. I think thats pretty slim. The DNW110 has a footprint of 6x11.

    Not sure of the total gallonage of the system ? But a good HOB skimmer I have never really seen myself not one I'd ever trust to not overflow .. I think I'd consider looking into a HOB overflow and adding a sump if that is a option at all ? A sump will allow you for far more filtration options and that equals better animal health ..IMO only based on just my experience of systems with and with out a sump.

    101cm=40"

    10cm=4"

    I was just think why no put the skimmer under the tank? You are planning a sump right? Theres plenty of short fat bubbleplate skimmers that would work great. If not jeessh, I dont know were you'll find a good skimmer that would fit that area. If you were in the US I could build you a custom square counter current that would make use of the space and allow for proper skimming effiecency.

    Also I will have to agree with Tangster HOB skimmers are not nearly as effective as internal or external run units. It mainly stems from where they draw water from.

    No not getting a sump at the moment, a skimmer internally would also be an option since i lack the room on the outside of the tamk?

    Most HOB would fit that then. As for the choices...It doesn't really matter. None of them do anything especially well enough to warrant a recommendation, IME.

    For what ever its worth ? I'd just get a internal air driven skimmer at this point with a good air pump and several coralife wooden air blocks and just keep them bleached soaked and air dried and rotate them in and out every few weeks Lee's and Saunders both made or still make a decent simple skimmer like these. Turboflotor and red sea also I think ? Look around I'm sure you can still find them.. As mentions any skimmer that is a HOB type is not worth the expense I don't think.
