    This is what I used to start out and refer back to:

    I don't mean to tell you "go read this", but it explains everything you need to know in detail. I doubled the ramp-up time and never experienced any problems.

    take a few ml of vodka add it to the tank, increase dosage as necessary.

    If you can follow the chart and remember to dose it everyday, that's about it. You need a good skimmer.
