expanding the reef to 3 tanks

    Each vertical foot adds 1 ft head, a 90 elbow adds about 1/2 foot and the is a little on the horizontal as the length becomes greater. A manifold works like an elbow for each exit.

    I have a friend that runs 2 75g on a common sump---works great. Manifold is a good idea if you dont want 3 seperate pumps!!

    yeah originally i had intended on getting a 1000GPH pump with a 4x1/2" manifold off of it to feed the 75gal display, 17gal mantis, the GFO/Carbon reactor, and id have a spare. well now i have a use for the 'spare' by piping in the 3rd tank and just need a bigger pump.

    I think your ideas are awesome, you should post some pics of the tanks/new setup when you're done!

    p.s. I especially like your mantis idea, I love mantis shrimp!
