Let the Nahacky's out on Monday night; no issues with them. The C. lunatus has actually been the most aggressive with them (well, except for the male H. timorensis, but that's typical with him and lasts for a very short duration). Male Nahacky is stunning, stunning, stunning. Much more yellow than others I've seen.

The Royal was a bit freaked out in the box with the two Nahacky's. He's calmed down much more now; letting him out tonight.

    In other news:

Per Trent's advice I ordered myself up a more extensive water test, to try and diagnose what's really going on in this tank right now. Results to note:

    Silica: 2.3 meq/l (very high, 4 to 5x)
    Molybdenum: 0.5 meq/l (silly 4x high)
    Strontium: 25.0 meq/l (2x high)
    Potassium: 210 meq/l (low)

My brown mess are diatoms. Heh. Last thing to cross my mind. Switching out some filters, and most importantly my resins, for SpectraPure stuff. And doing their dual stage resins. Lesson learned; BRS resins no more.

This also shows how elevated some synthetic salt mixes are in trace elements, to the point of toxicity (that level of Molybdenum is problematic). Back to Instant Ocean (dosed up) like I once used to do...

And of most interest, 60x27x27 is a go. :D Starfire front and sides, lead time is 4 weeks or less (ordering today).

Andy, message me if you want to know price.

Congrats on the new tank. Good find on your water. Hope everything clears quickly with the upgraded filtration and salt change.

Awesome Bro, congrats on the new fish, and new tank on the way;)

And thanks again on the help with mine, both the melanarus and lubbock are out and eating good, both actually are gobbling up flake, even though I'm trying to spot feed them, they are still a bit shy for that. And 3 days and no jumps, woohoo, not that there's anywhere to go, but still woohoo;)

Glad all is well. Still see your still up to the wrasse thing. Definitely a good switch by going to the Spectrapure resins. ;)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
So the diatoms from the silicates is from the BRS resins hmmmmm.
Guess the new testing equipment was worth the investment.
A big congrats on the new tank sounds almost as stunning at your male wrasse.
Looking forward to image of him.

Oh and really hard to go wrong with IO as long as you're dosing. It has been tried and true for me for decades now.
