Not 100% true on the evap, but very close. I lose around 20 gallons of water a week thru evap and skimmer funk. most of it is thru evap (1 or 2 gallons of skimmate). I do notice that about once a month I need to boost my salinity back up with this amount of evaporation.

The need to boost salinity should be from the loss to skimming in your case and any salt spray.

I always check my SG lvl once a month (used to check each week) but I got used to the routine. As long as you're not leaking out water anywhere while using an ATO, and a very important thing that helps me keep my SG in check is to take a small cup of my RODI water and wash back in any salt creep that tries to leave my tank. Some spots of creep aren't possible to put back in so I add a tad more salt water on my water change day and it all evens out. You're mainly watching out for major SG lvl swings like from 1.025 down to 1.022 is a bad thing for some creatures. But, a single point shift isn't the end of the world.

Agreed I add 15+ gallons a week in ro/di on my 185, I will usually make water changes with a lower starting salinity to avoid the range getting too high
