also i heard that these corals don't do to good with leather corals in the tank due to the chemicals the leathers release...?

I've read the above link. Here it is for those interested:

    Placement

Middle to top of tank when using fluorescent lighting; Middle to bottom of rockwork with metal halides. Be sure to leave plenty of room around this coral due to its aggression and propensity to send out "sweeper" tentacles with a powerful sting.
It can be placed next to species of Hammer corals without aggression. However, the aquarist should monitor closely for the first couple of days. Placing the coral in the vicinity of a torch coral is not a good idea, they will mildly annoy each other, often hindering growth.

Well, I've never read that. With so much information available, it's hard to choose what source you're going to trust. I tend to take a "most prevalent" bent to what I read. If I read it once and never again, it doesn't get much credence. If I've read it 50 times, I'll almost swear by it. Of course, this carries the assumption that you consider the source whenever seeking information. In other words, and to put it mildly, I'd trust a newsperson before Maury Povitch.

Well I can add a little to this one, I have a torch coral that was wedged In a hole in a rock above one of two nice hammers I have.
Unknown to me the torch got knocked over ad was laying up against the Hammer and by the time I realized it not only is the hammer
suffering now the torch looks like CRAP also.

And as far as leathers not living with Hammers and spawns this piece of frogspawn is in the same tank with several types of leather in
1/2 of a 33 long and it is thriving!

There is a Devils hand and Spaghetti leather obscured buy the Spawn, and note the Kenya tree to the right.
