eshopps skimmer

ok i just got a eshopps skimmer dont know much about them i got it new for 30.00 bucks so i said y not give it a shot. so my question is how do i get it to stop over flowing the collection cup theres now water in the clear line that plugs in to the motor. but as soon as you turn it on it fills that line and the collection cup up i dont know how to set it up. so any kind of reply would be great and i know not a lot of people know much on these skimmers so thanx for any kind of help.

 

Do you have the older model? By that I mean the older in sump model that is a straight cylinder, no coning at all?

That unit doesn't pull enough air that is its problem... I take it you most likely have a Rio with a venturi port on it.... I would take out the pump, soak it in vinegar to remove any deposits... BUT if its new you won't have any deposits to remove so scratch that....

There should be a foam piece on the outlet, that controls the water level, adjust that up or down until the water doesn't fill the cup so fast.... All skimmers take a couple days to break in, its just worse when you have a cheap skimmer that doesn't pull much air... Eshopps new skimmers do have a cone to them and look fairly decent, I am trying out the new HOB that they have at our shop and honestly, it looks decent but again draws too much water, and the skimmate no matter what is too wet...

yep got it up and runing i sealed the pvc conecters and i got it some what running good i need to ajust a little i think i have cleaned the cup out once a day but thanxs for the info on the skimmer i got it new for 30 dollers so y not i would give it a shot but thanx again
