So I have a 300w Eheim Jager heater and i'm really confused on how it works. See attached link: https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/technology/aquarium-heaters/thermocontrol-300W

There is a blue dial on the top that you adjust for the temperature and there is a read arrow that points to the degrees that are written on the blue dial. My issue with this heater is you could set it for example to 78 degrees (red arrow pointing to 78) however, you can move just the red arrow without moving the blue dial. So you think it's at 78 but if you move it it will go as far down as 8 or so degrees. So what temperature is correct 78 or 72? I don't get it. Am I doing something wrong.

What heaters would you fellow reefers recommend?

I recommend Eheim Jager! You move the blue "dial", not the red arrow.

Yes, I know the manual is on the page I linked and I read the manual when I got the heater 8 months ago.

I understand you move the blue dial however, the red arrow moves as well. I would think the red arrow should be fixed in place. What's the point of it even moving if it's not meant to move?

Funny, I was just looking this up last night. From what I gathered the red pointer moves 4 clicks either way from "zero" this is suppose to let you fine tune your heater. :loco:

For me, it just cause me major confusion (I bought it used) and just turned it till my temp was where I wanted it and left it.
