    Hello,

    I just bought and setup a Eheim filter 2217 for my 125g FOWLR tank.

    Anyone have any experience or feedback on this filter?

    Works as designed. Pain in the butt to change/clean media, but that's because it's a canister filter not because of the specific model.

    I had one. It is a bullet proof canister filter that is very quiet.
    As for cleaning, I just kept floss at the top for easy cleaning, then carbon and the Eheim media on the bottom. I replaced the floss about once a month, the carbon every couple months to be honest. You may want to do it once a month depending on the grade of carbon. And once a year I gave a light rinse to the Eheim media. I would not change floss or carbon when I cleaned the media so as to not reset all the bacteria in the filter.

    Eheim canisters are more expensive but well worth the money. Great choice.
