Eheim 1262 or Sicce Syncra 4.0?

I think you guys are convincing me of swapping out returns as well. My rio HF32 is an energy hog... and in these hot summer months (gets to 110 here) it's no good.

 

I suppose a follow-up is in order:

I put the 1262 in last Thursday. Come Friday I realized my digital thermometer has taken a nose dive, after not fully responding in accords with the temperature change I expected. So according to it, the tank is running a degree cooler now (83). But when I check with a good 'ol trusty glass thermometer, the tank is at 80F. Those two thermometers used to read the same... (but the digital did get wet once in the past). Time to replace the digital it seems. Tank is definitely cool enough now for my liking; suppose that's the good news. And my electric bill should be a bit cheaper, so it wasn't money wasted by any means.

 

Expecting a commission check from Eheim soon. Glad to hear your tank is cooler...is it any quieter? I noticed a pretty audible change between my Mag and the 1262.

 

I never thought the mag12 was loud. I can't tell any difference but I can't hear much over my skimmer anyway.

 

what are you going to do with the mag 12 out of curiosity?

 

Currently sitting in a box in my pantry. I'll probably sell it.
