I still haven't been able to find a definitive answer on if the spacer is needed for the glass thickness of the Coralife Biocube 29g. I think it said somewhere it was roughly 6mm which is about 1.9/8" Also if anyone has any tips or techniques for setting these up in these smaller biocubes any inputs appreciated.

I would use the spacer, i believe in the booklet it comes with it says you need to have 3/8 inch to not use the spacer.

As for placement, i would put it on whichever side you prefer about 6 inches below the water line.

no experience with a biocube, but i did have a 27 gallon cube with an mp10.

I figured as much, I was going to run it regardless, to expensive of a powerhead to risk it.

And your right the spacer baggie says: "There is no need to use this spacer on glass thicknesses of 1/4 or 3/8."
"Failure to use the included rubber spacer on glass thicknesses of 1/8" and 3/16" can damage your pump."

I have two mp10 in my tank using the spacer.

They are on the far back facing each other.

Here's a pic, you can see them on both sides in the back.

oh gotcha. apologizes, I'll look over your build thread later, but what have you seemed to like the most of the presetting's, or did you end up going with custom wave patterns(more than likely with how you have two setup like that)

I'll probably just mess with this at first and leave it on the eco/reef mode, I've got no corals, hardly any livestock. Just checking off my pre list of equipment needs and trying to get this tank setup for future establishment.

    The tank:
    Coralife Biocube 29g
Barley 3 weeks old, was going to be a sump/refugium nano, decided against it.

A week after, a previous week of an explosion of Diatoms', aka the end of tank cycle; Seriously looked like a septic tank for a while there..Random liverock, 3 snails and a fish. I was modestly happy to see the tank clearing up this week..
