Well as some may know my new 75 gallon tank is in the home stretch of completion. Being close, I've been doing my normal browsing for power heads to get some water movement.

It's no secret that the mp10,20,40,and 60 line of pumps are the cream of the crop when it comes to wate movement in our tanks. But just shy of 500 new for a 40, and just shy of 800 for a 60 is some serious cash.

Got me thinking at that price most electronics like TV's, computers, cameras etc have a payment plan in place for those of us who aren't able to drop that kind of money all at once, and its no different here. I would love to have a vortec, I love everything about em except that price tag.

So, bottom line, is there an option to do this? Maybe from a distributer of Eco tech? If not, with enough support maybe we can suggest one be put in place. Of corse with all payments, we'd be paying interest so this could be good for them. As for us reefers we could have this incredible piece of equipment available to the majority of us who aren't well off financially.

That is a very good point. Are they a sponsor here? If so we could start a thread on their forum.

Ok, so they aren't a sponsor. Maybe one of the other sponsor's that sell the product would be interested though. Just a thought.

I looked and didn't see them listed. I was going to post it there. I feel there's more ppl like me in this hobby that want the best money can buy, weather it be skimmers lighting pumps or even tanks in general. but don't have the cash readily available, for what ever reason. This doesn't have to be limited to just the mp line of pumps but I feel it's a good place to start.

Only thing I have a question on would be, if you didn't pay that months bill, how would the company retrieve its product and what consequences would the consumer face?

That's my intent, rally enough people to show them that with something like a payment option, maybe more units could be sold. Because in my neck of the woods 500 bux could buy a lot of necessities. But I care about the well being of my marine aquarium that I would be willing to pay for example 22 bux a week for 6 months. That comes to 572 dollars, obviously the interest will help the manufactuer, and 22 dollars/week is more than do-able. I have no experience in sales or marketing, but I think that something along those lines could help us, the consumer, out tremendously.

Like I said this could be applied across the board in skimmers, lighting, pumps, tanks, etc.

Marine Depot uses Bill Me Later (through PayPal). It offers a 6 month/no interest payment option...pending approval or course. I wish MD offered AI Sol lights.

I am not trying to be mean here, but if you don't know the answer to that you shouldn't be accepting credit yet

I think it would be more of a hassle than anything for a company like ecotech, or any company for that matter, because the payment plan will actually be done through a separate financial institution. The financial institution will pay ecotech the retail price for their goods and then ecotech is out of the picture. The purchaser then is entered into contract with the financial institution and the original retailer is completely out of the picture.
It's just a big pain for companies to do this.
