Do any of you ever find yourselves setting an alarm to get up early and get a tank project done? For some reason the bigger projects in my tank just feel better when done early in the morning.

Today I crawled out of bed at 5:30 to replace a bunch of my rock and clean up the tank. It feels so good to have it done long enough before lights come on for the water to clear.

    You are a true Go-Getter!!!

I wake up at that time or earlier every day - but unfortunately its to make it to work 40 miles away for 7am - and not to tackle reef projects.

But you are right - getting up early and getting work done is loaded with it's own rewards IMO!

I'm kinda the opposite. I try to sleep late (generally can't) and try to do things to keep me busy until the lights come on so I can see! Time goes slow when youre waiting to do something in your tank!!

    I can relate to that

I wanted to move my test tanks out of the spare bedroom and into the front room

and I waited until everyone else had gone to bed, started the project at 11pm and finished at 1 am
    then went to bed myself

i like to do all my major projects in the morning because then i can monitor the tank all day long to make sure none of my changes had a negative effect! :)

I agree. I have woken up fairly early to work on the new system whenever I have had off of work. Six isnt that early for me considering I often have to wake up at quarter to five for work and Im an insomniac as it is. I like the feeling of getting something done and having the day to see its affects or to do something other than reefing. Which isnt likely, but its a possibility I spose. lol
