well i want to feed my candy cane coral but I dont have a syringe or turkey baster

what I wanted to do was melt the food in some water and then suck some up into a straw and cover the end with my finger then put it by my CC and slowly let some of the food come out

    so are straws reef safe?

and no the food will not go in my mouth ::)

I would imagine, it is food grade plastic, you have tons of plastic in your tank already. My opinion, sure. I just don't know about getting Slobber all over the coral food. :p

Put a little food in the water, then turn on the lights for an hour. Most corals only eat at night on the reef. It takes them some time of being in an aquarium for them to open up during the day.

I'd have to say that no, drinking reef water is not safe.
