Hmm. they are very cool, when i get a bigger tank they will definitely be on the stock list! I remember reading a thread here a while back where someone had a pistol that moved ridiculous amounts of sand around their tank. I would like to get some sexy shrimp though, I think they would probably do well in my set up.

Honestly I would think about the pistol/goby with your current tank for a couple reasons. In a big tank they can sort of get lost in the scape. I had my pistol in a 55 and NEVER saw him. Well maybe once every few months. Heard him all the time though. Sometimes those little tanks are great for nano critters your just can't truly appreciate in larger tanks.

My dream is to get a porites colony with the little coral blennys for my 12g cube plumbed into my main system for stability. I think that would ROCK I see them all the time diving in the Caribbean.

That would be really cool. The plumbing might be a little tricky, but it shouldnt be too bad. Something like chris's overflow into a "community" sump would work for it. And that is a very good point about the shrimp/goby pair. I have seen how easy it is for them to disappear into a tank, but having them in a more confined system would be awesome! I was thinking that a 12 would be a good size for them actually, just because it would be small enough where they would be easy to find.

So it has been a while since I did a thread update, and I have changed quite a few things! Mainly coral placement, but I added some fish too!

First off I moved my frogspawn up from the sand bed, and epoxied it to the rock in a good spot
    [IMG]
there are four little shoots growing off of the skeleton too, and I am hoping this coral really starts to take off growth wise!

I also purchased a purple and green war coral
    [IMG]
and after letting it spend some time on the sand bed I moved it up to midtank because I was worried it wasn't getting enough light.

A soon as I did it extended some very long sweepers, which I am taking to be a sign that it likes its new spot.

I also recently purchased a clump of duncan heads

I moved some of my other zoas and stuff around too, but I seem to be having bad luck with one of my colonies. This colony was my best one about two weeks ago, it had the best coloration, size, and was open the most. Now it seems to be almost melting, and hasn't opened back up even after I tried adjusting its position, light exposure, etc. Most of my colonies are more closed up/ not as vibrant as they used to be, but this is the only one that is having serious issues. If anyone has an ideas about what is going on with them I would really appreciate some input.

For comparison they used to look like this
    [IMG]

It started as just two heads being closed up, and now I can hardly get all of them to open. I've been checking my water, and as of today all of my parameters are where they should be. PH was a little low, but I dosed some 8.4 so it should bump up some.

As for new fish, there have been several additions and a loss. My purple firefish succumbed to his internal parasite :-[ But I picked up a neon goby about a month ago, and on sunday I finally got a tail spot blenny!

    Here is the goby

    And here is the blenny

That was taken the day after he was added, so people next to the tank kinda stressed him out a little still. He is much happier now! In fact, when I was performing some maintenance/a water flow experiment, he found a new spot!

Luckily I noticed before I turned the powerhead back on!

Oh, and I finally have coralline growing! ;D It is growing pretty well on my powerhead, and I have a few spots on my glass by my sand and some on the back wall. I am pretty happy that it is taking off!

Here is the most recent FTS too

Rule of thumb: White polyps non-, Tan polyps photosynthetic.
