    Jason -

I've already changed my mind on mine. I'm getting the BK 400 Internal. Deltec's are nice but the prices are way out of line. I had Doug trying to sell me one at IMAC. I think it was the 1106. Think about the power consumption on that thing 4 ehiem recirculating pumps + 1 pump to feed = Round & Round on the electric meter!

The only cool thing is the self cleaning unit but for $1200 + another pump for the flush water... forget it!!!

    Go with the BK!!!!

Awww ..........;) Well FWIW Hidden Reef is supposed to start carrying or at least being a dealer for these skimmers so I would think that they will have at least one in stock or on one of their tanks that you can admire - or if you are ever in the Peace River country you can come by and see both of mine;D

I used to go up to FSJ all the time for work. But now not so much. Now I just push paper around and get others to go up.

Ya I'll talk to Mike when I'm ready. I know he will be buying a lot of Proline stuff

The weird thing is that people are keeping reef tanks without a protein skimmer. Delbeek and Sprung have written about skimming and downplayed the importance of a skimmer especially with a refugium and a deep sand bed. There is a point where you don't want a skimmer to work to precisely or you will be depleting your water of trace minerals and nutrients required by your inverts and corals to say the least.
