    good luck; i'd just raise pods in the fuge for a while. get ur first few fish and see how they do, and when you're truly ready and know what to do then go for that mandarin

    I've had the spotted mandarin and the red mandarin. The red lived a lot longer, but eventually died of starvation. The spotted died within 2 weeks of fin rot. And if you're looking to show it off, I'd go with the red. :) my spotted was always in my rock mountain somewhere.. I saw him maybe 5 times in the time I had him.
