doh, me again! thinking of diy sump/fuge

    How do u attach a canister to your sump cause I have 2 fluval 404 that I was goin to use but you guys made change my mind

    How do you know where to put the baffles at?

    I just put each hose on opposite sides of the sump with the inlet on the side where the water is coming into the sump and the outlet near the return pump. I don't run any filter pads though.

    The baffles in a sump are positioned according to the size of your return pump and skimmer. Some skimmers are very wide, same goes for return pumps too. So make sure you build your sump after you know the required dimensions.

    Will do that

    Could you use the filter pads if you wanted to but I guess than it would just be a pain cause you would all was have to clean them

    And do you think a 55 gal sump is a good size for a 125

    55 gallon should be sufficient. Just jam it full of chaeto and macroalgae which I'm sure you can get for free from a fellow reefer.

    Out of all the ppl that I know none of them have a salt water tank there waitin to see how mine goes

    How much of each would you say I get ?

    And should I put lr and sand in that part of the sump to?
