does anyone have carnivorous plants?

    just wondering if any had any of these. i was wanting to have a terrarium with them but needed some info. i know about

    venus fly traps
    sundew
    and pitcher plants

    could all of these go together? how many times a week do i need to feed them? what kind of substrate do i need for them? thanks!

    any additional info would be appreciated!

    They will do well in peat moss, they come from nutrient poor acidic soil. You might need to get a large terrarium to house them, but I believe yes. Once a week is probably fine, it takes several days for them to digest their prey.

    Yep, peat moss will probably be best. Just keep in mind that they are carnivorious because the soil they live in is terrible, dry, and not exactly fit for plant life. So they have another way of getting food.

    I have a venus fly trap :) Except I'm not sure he survived the winter :( He was/is three years old-ish. Hopefully I'll see signs of life soon. If not I'll just buy another. They are awesome plants. Feeding them small crickets is sadistically fun ;D

    i have a 5 and six gallon aquarium

    i was wanting to do venus flytrap on the left, sundew in the middle, and pitcher plant on the right. i could buy six crickets a week i guess. or buy dead ones.

    ill get pics of the terrarium soon. if i have money after buying base rock for the 55, ill setup this puupy fully.

    so i think im gonna go with a ten gallon instead of a 5 or 6. that leaves more room in between plants.

    got the ten gallon setup, im gonn plant some mangroves in this tank also, just enought to cover the back wall. i dont think the thirty gallon needs 15 mangroves either... lol
