    Hi Guys,

I am waiting for the silicone to cure before I do a wet test, but wanted to share some pictures and see what you thought. I made a small bubble trap area for my drain that I plan to stick live rock in to help dissipate bubbles. the skimmer (ended up getting the 160) also fits nicely and I think that I have space for my maxi-jet powerhead for my GFO reactor. The return section is in the middle and is about 8 inches wide. The refugium a little over 9 inches. The baffles are made of 1/4" acrylic from Home Depot. The first baffle is 8 inches tall and should keep my skimmer at the right depth. The second baffle is about an inch off of the bottom. The third baffle is 7 inches tall. The baffle for the refugium is 8 inches tall with 1 inch teeth cut to trap any macro floating. I plan on putting some sand (don't know if I want a DSB yet), live rock, chaeto, and red mangroves in the refugium. I am still trying to figure out the plumbing but i think I will like it better than what I have now. Did I miss anything or does anyone see anything grossly wrong? Thanks!!!!

    Regards,
    Ivy

It looks like you put some thought in it to me :). I think it looks good. there are always different ways of doing it but I personnely dont see any issues

I have the octopus extreme 160 and for me it seems to work better around 9"

Thanks guys!!! I did put a little thought into it and tried to make it function better than what I have now. We'll see if that is the case once it is installed :)

I only went with 8 inches because that is what all of the sites recommended. It may be that 9 is better. Worse case, I have to cut a new baffle, but I think that I will try it out first. I may give it a wet run before I put it under the tank. I need to let the skimmer good a cleaned anyway. Thanks!!!
