Basically, like many of us, I am broke. However I want to do a simple DIY Moonlight for my 40g setup. I have spent hours researching and i think I am going to go to home depot tomorrow on the way to school and checkout their Blue LED strip lights. My only concern is, I really want the flourescence of actinic type of lighting after my 150W pheonix bulb goes out. I understand that some of these LED moonlight fixtures made by Current USA are in the 450nm range. Waaayyyyyy too expensive for me though. On the other hand, many other people are claiming that just in general any blue leds will make your coral colors pop at bit at night. What do you all think???

The cheapest moonlights come from autozone... they sell blue 12V car accessory lights for around $15 for a string of 8 that have two sided sticky tape on them. I stuck them up inside my canopy and use a 9V DC wall wart to power them... they're great!
