Aqueon is also a good brand. My parents just got a really nice looking 36 gal Aqueon Bowfront and it's pretty sweet looking. But yeah, I've never heard anything bad about any particular brand of tank. Just look around and find a shape you like.

    Thanks again!

I looked in to the aqueon tanks and like them. In my personal interest to support small businesses I will purchase everything from an online small business like americanaquariumproducts.com or fishpetlove.com, if you know of anuy other one let me know!

I called fishpetlove.com to see if they had kits to get me started, I called other places and they had there own preset ones, but Fred, the owner said that he could put something together for me, he is waiting to get new aquariums, so I've decided to wait until he gets them to give him the chance to get my business. They're trying hard!

So remember, in this era Mom n Pops have gone WWW.

I will however get fish locally, since I can't imagine the poor fishes traveling in coach.... first class for my fishes! I'll pick them up from the local shop in my Lambo, or probably my Porsche. Well they'll probably not even notice... and i probably shouldn't be day dreaming neither.. :)

    Thanks again!

Hello Matute, IMO Skip freshwater. once you got into both side by side, you will find freshwater is not even close to the same appeal as saltwater. A happy mdian between freshwater and Reef tank would be FOWLR (saltwater, Fish Only With Live Rock) This way you can have an easier transition into Mixed Reef furthermore you wont need most the expensive supplies you need with a reef. No skimmer, no expensive lighting, no dosing, no reactors or sumps. All you need is some live rock and sand, sea salt and a few other minor things such as hydrometer.

I vote FOWLR. its not to late!!

For what I have red and spoken, I think I'm going with a 50 gln.

Fred [ fishpetlove.com ] will help me by putting everything together for me and then helping me install it, though I think I can do it myself.

i would also want to subscribe to a monthly magazine, any recommenations?

    Thanks again!

    Hi drew3;

I have seen a lot of tanks and yes there are some impressive ones. I like the tubular tanks like this one:

fishpetlove.com => see the one in the back?

Some have suggested I stay away from these kind of tnaks for now since they have limitations in terms of cleaning and maintenance as well as the fact that except for very few small sepcies fish don't enjoy a narrow and tall tank... but it does look nice.

Right now i'm in the last details befor purchasing all i need, I'll keep yo posted!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a aquarium subscription magazine?

    Thanks again!

Sounds like youv'e made up your mind :). If you do any ordering of livestock online. Id suggest Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums They cary FW Plants, FW Fish, Pond Creatures :) Coral Inverts and other fish. and they have a pretty good rundown about each fish on the site. Asides from your every day research you can do.

Best of wishes and Welcome the the 3reef Family!
