I made my own sw rock on 2/20/2010. i have changed the water once a day and sometimes twice a day and the PH is still going crazy. none of them are round, almost all of them are flat peaces no more then 2" thick. how can i get the PH down. i need the rock like now, i know i that there is no trick that will get it done that fast but there has to be away to get it done faster then what its doing now.any help would be great... thanks

Are you using RO or tap water? The way I understand it is that if there is any acidity in the water the diy rock can only leach out an equal amount then a balance is made and the rock stops leaching.

I use RO changed daily and the shortest period I've gone through was 5 weeks so far. I'm only leaching out 7-10lbs at a time so using the ro isn't a problem for me because I can completely cover the rock with 4 or 5 gallons.
