I walked into my LFS today and they had "made rock" that they was selling for 3.99lb cured. And then they had Fiji rock for 8.99lb:eek:

    1) my questions is, is that a good price 3.99lb for "made rock", or should I just take the time and make my own rock.

    2) Is that to high for Fiji rock that is cured?

    3) (OFF TOPIC) what is the formula for calculation light to water ? I have a 50/50 64watt x 2 coralife. So I can know what type of coral I can get

Down here cured or not Fiji's between 4.99-6.99/lb. there's one place down here though that sells "blueridge" rock for 8.99/lb, but it's amazing rock already covered in coraline and many coral and other hitch-hikers too. next time i go there i'll take a few pics of the rock tank. still too pricey for me.

figi only goes for $5 a pound and that fake rock goes for under$2 you can get dry reef bones for $1.50-2 a pound and their better imo cause they used to be coral, but you need some liverock to seed whatever kind of baserock you use.at least 40% liverock depending on who you ask.

You might want to take a look at:
Live Rock - Tampa Bay Saltwater Aquacultured Live Rock
This stuff is incredible, wet shipped, but you do get some annoying hitchhikers...
Sponges die in contact with the air, so this shows the care in keeping the harvested rock wet:
Here is a SMALL sample of what arrived on my rock:

    Can't beat this stuff.
