Quick rundown. I have two corner overflows I built and installed in my 125. One of the two is failing. The seal along one side is completely pulling away from the glass. I used aquarium safe silicone to join the arcrylic to the glass. If I have a power outage, instead of my entire system coming to a stand still....I get flooding. Then when the power kicks back on my ATO gets dumped to replace the lost water.

I bought some aquastik epoxy putty. The plan is to push the overflow back into place and hold with a piece of PVC. Then coat the inside joint with this putty. IS this putty water proof or will it create a water tight seal between the glass and the overflow? The seal must be water tight. Anybody got experience with this stuff? Thanks

Your problem is that silicone does not adhere to acrylic because it is not porous. If you try and reseal it with more silicone it will do the same thing in a short period of time and will continue to do this.

As far as I know clarky594 hit it on the head. I've never tried, but I've read that it's super hard to get acrylic to adhere go glass with most products. Is there water flowing through the broken part? I think I would worry about developing some pressure on the bottom part of your seal when the overflow starts working properly again. I hate to say it too, but I agree that your most likely going to need drain the tank and do it over, but the advantage of that is you can redo your other one too because if this is from the glass acrylic problem than you can expect your other one to fail soon too.
