Nice job. How long have you been using your homemade live rock? I've always been interested in trying that out.

The tank has been operational for about 8 months. I did not powder coat the stand. This is my second metal stand. All of the stuff in my 210g came from a 4 year old 150g tank. I did not powder coat that stand either. That stand was made from 1.25" x .25" angle. I just paint them black.

those pics look good, but if i can add my 2 cents (or 1 cent) i would seriously add some cross braces on 45degree angles to stop the side to side if it were to ever do so. even if powder coated the salt will inevitably eat through it a little atleast and you dont need it goin over to one side or the other, better safe than sorry when it comes to weight like that in my opinion.

Mine is of this nature. 4' x 2' by 36 tall. I will eventually tile the top, and maybe texture the sides and afix to the wall to match (walls) like a built in counter.

But I have post tension concrete floor.

The stand does not want to rack in any way but, it did want to sway forward. The foot print is so small and the stand it tall, to fix this I cut a piece of 1.25 x 2 inch bar stock and bent it into a long u shape. One side is welded to the back of the stand and the other side is bolted to a stud in the wall. The oak skin also works as a gusset, it is bolted to the metal stand.

I am sorry I missed your question. I have had 350 lbs of rock in my 150g for 3 years before I moved it all to the 210g. It is now about 4 years.

Sorry I should of been more clear 316 is a standard grade of stainless steel

1 inch of good welding will hold 1t, so aslong as its designed well you could hold as much weight as you wish.
