OK I tried to get these little boogers with the tweezers and let me tell you these guys hurt when they touch you. Guess I should have gloves. Any way I cant seem to get the whole thing off when I try to pluck them. Every where I do research them I get the same answer of they are BAD. They are all over my tank now and even had one riding on my hermits back. Before I tear the whole tank down and start from scratch are there any other recommendations. Thanks in advance and thanks to those who have already helped answer some of my questions. You know who you are and K+ to ya.

if they are all over your tank, sadly you will have to nuke you live rock. im sorry but that seems to be what people end up resorting too after months of battling with kalk.

jelly fish are the one thing in the ocean i have no sympathy for.

How is nuking the rock bad? If you kill everything on it, then wash and scrub it ro/di water, to get the dead stuff off, won't it be like putting base rock into your tank? You might end up with a small cycle, but not enough to kill most of the inhabitants? If you do that, the day you put your nuked rock back in, have some store bought rock already fully cured, primo stuff, so the cycle will be manageable. Do you have to change the water and the sand too? That shouldn't be too hard since you'll have the rock out already, just don't suck the fish up, put them into a container with old tank water, then acclimate them to the new tank and water. Making sure you take a long time and you end up with 100%tank water. Maybe even changing the vessel they are sitting in. Do that part last......

    hey in "Lindaland" it works.............;D

    a) its alot of work lol
b)if there are any corals you cant get off they will die.
    c) any inverts you miss on the rock will die
    thats why its bad
as far as the sand im not sure if you have to replace that. also any hermits and snail make sure you pick the whole thing off of them.

i like how you break it down so easily lol

I have a few of these too, glad I know they hurt so I dont touch one...but otherwise they dont seem to be a problem. don't bother my other inhabitants...they are spreading slowly though, maybe just cut back on feedings a bit to control population and keep an eye out for any issues, but I also like watching my tank at night, they are kinda cool to see
