    Hopefully diatoms. I just went a few months with the dino and it is a bugger to deal with. Long as ya run phos-ban you should never have it. I put it in the canister instead of an extra component. Dino is a major mess try to avoid it.

    I have a canister is phosban something to run all the time?

    I'm still very new have a fluval 405 just been running what it came with

    Now it's been getting stringy, has it moved from diatoms to Dino or algae or cyano?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Diatoms and perhaps some cynobacteria, but I do not see dino.

    Incognito's picture of dino is very representative of what it looks like. Once it takes hold you would have no doubts that it is dino, and then the misery begins. So be very very glad.

    I'm just so worried it will turn into something more. I added a goby a few days ago to help with moving the sand and now it's just a pit of brown murky water... So depressing! Guess I should start looking into cyan
