First off, how long has your tank been set up. If it's fairly new then it's just the normal cycling process but if you've had it up for a while it could be something else.

Diatoms are normal at this stage. They will go away on their own. It will just look a little ugly for a little while. Perfectly normal.

If the tank is only two weeks old then it's just cycling and they will go away on their own in a little while, you just have to be patient. If you want you can scrape it off the glass to clear that up when it starts getting bad.

Dang, barely beat me to it. But yeah, it will look a little ugly for awhile, perfectly normal.

What do diatoms look like? I just notices some white dots on the front and sides of my glass that look like they have little legs 6+. Any ideas?

Diatoms are brown and cover practically everything at the beginning. Don't know what the white things are...
