I have white sand so it somehow it got dirty. So I got the idea of buying 2 of these Diamond goby, They are sand shrifting. I dont see much of an improving on my sand cleaness, but I see alot of sand are being stir up all the time. I kinda dont like it, should I move it to my fuge? I like crystal clear water. What should I do?

Give it some time, usually in about a week the silt will settle down. If you can use filter socks, do it. They will help.

I would look into a dragon goby. I had one in my nano and really went to town on cleaning my sand..

How old is the sand? Diamond gobbies will stir things up, they eat microfauna in the sand. As a method to keep sand clean, they are sort of like sweeping dirt under the carpet though. All the crud on the sand, rather than being removed, gets mixed in with all the sand. So, in a sense, it turns your sand bed into a big garbage can. I prefer to just lightly siphon the top of the sand when I do water changes. My experience is with gobbies is they will always stir things up, that's what they do... You can run a fine micron filter to get the sand out of the water, but it will also remove other things. Reefs in nature have lots of particulates floating around, so, from my perspective that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Having sand dumped on corals and mixing in nutrient sources into the sand bed are though.

hey i just got a diamond watchman goby too. He is definitely stirring up my sand. My tank looks really dirty now. I think that alot is getting skimmed out but im not sure how i like this guy. He may be sifting the sand, which could be good or bad. He is also throwing sand onto some corals and into the water column. Some is getting into my vortechs. :( I am going to give it a week or so to see if the tank clears up. He is a very pretty fish and hangs out all over the tank, which is cool, but i like clean water and clean glass.
