Be happy it's active. I put two in my tank on the 18th - headed for the cover of the rock and haven't seen them since:cry:

if you are going to worry about your sand being level, the diamond goby is not for you. :)
mine never stops working. i let him decide how my sand will look. he is entertaining though. i laugh every time i see him evict a snail or hermit from his lair.

+1. I loved mine. I have tried other kinds of sand sifter gobies, but the diamond was the absolute best for keeping the sand clean. On a side note, he did seem to settle down a bit once he had been in the tank for a month or so, not too many 5" piles of sand....I guess he needed to get things just right first.

    Exactly.

I always go back to these fish. I like them a lot. I just worry about jumping as I have lost one that way and have an open tank. Anyway, anybody else feeding theirs by burying food near their lair? I have done that effectively in the past. I picked up one last week and I haven't started doing that yet but I will again. He better be quick though or the nas. snails will get it..
