dialing in ca reactor question

thank you guys!!!
what media do you usually use? right now im using crushed coral but am thinking about buying a media if its much of a difference... mainly for possible phosphates dissolving out of the crushed coral

I use Aqua Medic Hydrocarbanat in the medium or large size for a media and have been very happy with it, others I tried turned to mush if I didn't watch it closely even with the same pH settings.
