I have my tanks in the basement now and there is a dehumdifier running. Is this going to be making my water evaporate faster? The D/H is on the opposite side of the room. The basement is not finished.....yet. I feel an in wall comming soon.

Probably will. Dehumidifier removes moisture from the air. Tank puts moisture in the air. With an unfinished basement it all depends on the amount of moisture you have coming in through the walls.

More evaporate = cooler tank. Why not. :) You may not even need fans or cooler to keep the tank temperature down.

In a humid environment like Virginia in the Summer or your basement without the dehumidifier, the rate of water evaporation will be slower since the air above the tank is already holding a lot of water vapor. In a dry environment like El Paso in the Summer, or your basement with a powerful dehumidifier, the rate of evaporation from your tank will be increased since the air isn't holding as much moisture to start with. This means that there is more of a gradient for water to move from your tank to the air. This same principle applies when blowing a fan across the top of your tank or sump. The fan moves air just above the water surface that is already saturated with water and replaces it with fresh air that is carrying less moisture.

This morning i went in the basement and wow....there is water on everything like morning dew?!?!?!? Even with the dehumidifier running on auto (wich rarely shuts off) this is happening. Did anyone else experience anything like this? What did you do to solve this?

Maybe install a vent fan to the outside, help get some of that soggy air out of there? I live in Nevada, so humidity is never a problem. :)

I guess you might just need a bigger dehumidifier.
