Awww,Sean!Man i hate to hear that, talk about a setback,I hope it all turns around for you.Sorry bud.

Most cordless (quality) drills will have an adjustable clutch to allow the drill to "slip" if the drill bit catches too hard.

+1 and bust the big pieces into the tank,it'll help keep the mess down and you can sweep it out of the tank with the shop vac,be less on the floor.

No doubt,i don't think i'd be brave enough to drill either, especially on a big new tank.

I did have a chucke at tat All-State reference. Thanks for trying to cheer me up.
I used a dustpan to shovel it up into a contractor-size trash bag. I double bagged that up and put it in the trash outside.

What do I do with a 3-sided tank? In other words...how do I get rid of it?

ahhh I mean i know what a drill w/ a clutch looks like but didnt know its function, because i only use it with no slip, ie drilling drywall screws etc. Im so skeptical about drillin my tank, specially because 1. i dont know the make, 2. the guy who sold it to me said "you can drill tempered, ive done it before" which i call BS on. and 3. theres a washed out sticker that says something to the effect of the tank being made with tempered glass, but its only on the bottom, and i would drill the back glass. I put my oakleys on (and they are polarized) and i dont see any evidence of it being tempered tho . Im scared.. lol

What a man will do for a clean looking tank....I could have sworn it was not tempered  :(
I already smashed the large pieces that were left (using the cardboard packaging the tank came in). I put all that into a bag that is now in the trash. I just have to sweep up what's left.

Not sure If I will out this on hold or use the 29G(most likely) with a 10g sump. I'll just have a large skimmer.

I had the clutch on high so it wouldn't slip. I am an idiot.

If you want to come up to Ohio you can have it all for free. 2 end panels and the front panels are left.

If it cracked first it shouldnt have been tempered. Because if it was tempred it would have just fallen to pieces. I drilled mine with the clutch set on high just didnt apply any pressure at all the drill did all the work. sorry to hear
