I'd say yep, not nearly long enough acclimation time. I do a drip of 1 drip per 2 seconds(?) and do it for 2 hours, emptying when the bag doubles(about every 30-45 min). I've had too many to die from rushing it. Long slow drip!

    Sounds like a nice tank.

Your story sounded like one a friend told me. His problem was copper. Figured I'd ask. Try hitman's drip approach. I don't drip but I add a little bit of tank water to the bag every 5 minutes for an hour or two. When the bag gets full I dump half of the water out of the bag (into the sink not the tank) and continue adding water until it is close to full again. Similar approach to dripping, no losses so far.

That's kind of what I did with my peppermint shrimp, and what I do with other stuff I add. Let it float for a while, then start adding water every few minutes and then place the addition into the tank.

sorry for your loss.. we bought a cleaner shrimp from online and acclimated him by the drip method for about an hour and a half.. but he ended up dieing later in the night.. it was sad.. but we were lucky to get our money back.. sometimes its just to stressful for them.. good luck on your next one!!

I just added a cleaner shrimp to my tank. I don't mind adding the water from my LFS since a good portion of the water came from them, so I put the bag in the water, wait about 25 minutes and cut a small hole in the bag. Then I wait about 30 minutes and cut a bigger hole and let the shrimp go. It worked fine.

Well, judging by the video it's not copper :p Great tank! As mentioned earlier I would acclimate longer. I think that you'll be fine with as many shrimp as you have purchased. All my shrimp eat frozen foods and flake and I have a pair of cleaners and a fire (blood) shrimp. The cleaners are WAY more active though, but the blood shrimp seems to clean the fish more.

This is what I do. When I tried in like a bucket or something, I get too big of a temp drop in that time period with drip. I have to float to acclimate the temp and I can't drip into a floating bag (no sump or anything to float in).

The only difference is I add water (using a shot glass) every 15-20 minutes.

I'm so sorry! This is the way we acclimated our inverts: float bag for about 15 minutes, then set up drip acclimation using the small tubing - we had to tie a knot in it to get the drip right (a few drops per second). We drip acclimated for about an hour and a half. Just dump some of the water in the sink if the bag starts getting full. We were told better to be safe than sorry! So far, acclimating this way has been successful for us. Good luck with the next ones.
