death :(

    so i spent a ton of money on inverts today, bought a pair of fire shrimp and 3 smaller cleanershrimp....acclimated them for about 20 or so minutes, the smaller fire shrimp is doing awesome very active the alrger one is doing ok still alive, 2 cleaner shrimp died within 2 minutes, the other i cant find....any suggestions?

    yes you need to take your time acclimating shrimp they are very sensative you should be acclimating them anywhere between 45 min to an hour 20 min is no where near enough time even past an hour would be generous just to make sure

    oh crap, wish id known that, well looks like i will be buying a couple more shrimp this week, :( so drip acclimation is the best then?

    aw i think the larger fire srhimp is dead :( this sucks frie shrimp are $30 and cleaners are $20, so i lost like $90 :( and it really upsets me when things die cause its their lives.

    also how big is your tank the amount of shrimp your putting in might be doing a lot i may be wrong but i think to many cleaner shrimp in a tank may not be to good. Also the majority of you cleaner crew should be assorted snails and red leg or blue leg hermits cleaner shrimp are nice but honestly you only need one 2 at the max

    Are these your first inverts? Have you used or tested for copper in your tank? Copper can kill shrimp before they hit the bottom of the tank.

    Sorry for your losses.

    its a 150 gallon tank, 250 pounds LR, i have hermits and snails and have had cleaner shrimp before, they got eaten though :(, so i got rid of the trigger and got new ones,

    i have 2 clams too, and a reef so im sure its not copper.

    nice yeah i would do 2 cleaner shrimp at the most really no need for more then that
