dead nem :(

    well my female friend bought me a BEAUTIFUL purple tipped anemone the other day when we were out. it was doing great. and then it hung out to close to the inlet for my skimmer :((((( i woke up this mourning to it stuck half inside and my skimmer not pulling any water. luckly it didnt fry the pump for my skimmer but its definitely dead. :( so not cool. anyone have any tips on something i can do to stop this cuz im going to get another one lol.

    Use a strainer on the inlet or bridal veil would be better to keep it out.

    Sorry on the loss. I would also suggest reading up on nems as much as you can specially the one(s) you are interested in.

    ^^+1 Condy's are notorius for wandering until they find their sweet spot. As 2in10 suggested research more on nems before you put the next one in.;)

    i had done a bit of research before hand and i have a lta thats doing well. i thought i had my rockwork figured out to where it couldnt be affected but i was wrong lol.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Mixing LTA and BTA can lead to chemical warefare problems unless it is a large system and running some good chemical filtration.

    i was under the impression that it was only if they got close enough to touch each other. was i mistaken? because id rather not have that happen lol

    Yes touching can lead to problems, but it is more of the chemicals they release. You can compare it to keeping large leather corals that release toxins, after awhile the levels build up in the system and the other corals can suffer for it.
