So yesterday I went to the LFS to find a fish....Just a plain old fish that does nothing but swim aound. No worker fish, nothing, just a fish! LMAO

I find this beautiful Perc and after about 45 minutes of watching (it) and seeing that it's eating, alert, content looking, I take (it) home. I walk through the door and my oh so loving pups jump ::) up to see momma. Well, in the process my rat terrier tears a little hole in the bag that the new clown is in and it begins to rain on my feet :(

So into the tank (it) goes!! The clown is doing really well so I don't think it was too much of a shock but we'll see over the next few days how the newest RUSHED addition to the family does. 8)

He should be fine. Sometimes precaution needs to be thrown into the wind due to outlying circumstances, aka jumpers :D

I read somewhere that it doesn't matter if you acclimate or just dump the fish into the tank you have a 50/50 chance of survival.

My Boxer killed my Orange Shoulder Tang that way. Met me at the door, jumped up to greet me, and hit the bag with her claws. I got a whole half hour out of the fish before it died. Quickest $50 I ever spent.

I agree that it should be fine, but why didn't you simply pinch the bag where the tear was to stop the leak and maybe put it in a different bag? Just curious...
