the filtration is a little tight, but fits just right. I don't think I could have made it that close if I tried.

The tank cracked again! I defiantly can't feel safe use it now, so I've got to start over on the tank. I'm sorta thinking that the bulkheads where too tight, but I don't really know.

oh the irony of it all! so I'm going to go back to the a 29..... the tank I started with, with this light and this protein skimmer, but I got sick of it and moved on.......... or at least I thought I moved on. Here is the last fts of that tank. I'm thinking I'm going to do a bean overflow, but I'm going to make it vertical so it won't block as much light, but other than the tank being drilled and having different rock and coral, I'm pretty much going back to my first tank with a different stand lol.

I was given this 29g today. It needs to be cleaned and to have it's silicone be redone. I'm going to drill it and am thinking about trying to de-rim this one. I'm thinking about pulling the 20 low apart for the glass, but am not sure how much of a pain that would be. Anyone taken a tank or two apart? is there a high risk of braking the glass?

It's been some time since my last update, so I've got a bit done and ran into a few more problems. I re-silicone the tank and that was not too hard. I got it drilled and put in a overflow, but seeing as I never seen to learn form my past and test things as I go, I did not find out that the over flow is not completely sealed until just a little bit ago and I'm working on fixing in now. I put some trim on the stand and painted it. It's sorta hard to shoot, but it looks waaaaaay nicer. I cracked a bulkhead when I was getting some pvc out (man I freaked when I heard that cracking sound and thought I'd cracked this thank too........ I think I'd crack if that happened :freak3:), so I used some pipe glue and teflon tape to fix that. I got a some Loc-line this time because I like the ability to move my flow around after the tank is up and running and I'm not really too far from having it up and running, so the fun stuff will start soon :party014:. Now that I feel like I'm getting close to redeeming myself I'll start a what I did wrong thread about my current set-up (that's dumped water on the floor a few times) and all the things I did wrong.

Hey Damon, you got the attention from another DIYer! LOL
Sorry about the mishaps in the past, smaller tanks are really fragile to drill. I recently got my 90 with the Bean overflow up, having the 3/8" thickness made a lot of difference.

I got a question. How does the drain work? How many holes are there? (I counted two.) Cant really see it from the picture.

ya there are only 2 holes. I did not feel like I had room for 3 so I'm just not running the back up. I'm thinking I'm going to put a piece of drilled pvc pipe for a filter/bock guard so I feel better about t not getting plugged by a snail. I also might just cover the top of the overflow with mesh so nothing can get in it.
vote for my get the word out so I can get some leds for this this;D

Words can't express how happy I am to have this pic of my overflow being water tight. After how much water I've had dump from my (soon to be) old system I did not want any worries, but I kept having a tiny leek in my overflow. I'm always trying to save money and re-did the silicone on this tank and put a lot on. Because I put a lot on, the overflow glass did not want to sit just right and I've had a hard time getting that last little bit to seal. Now I just need to get a little more pond foam to fix the back again and move my "tragedy" (as I'm now calling it) out of the way so I can have a nice setup in my bed room.
