Flame scallops are pretty sweet. I don't know about how difficult they are to care for though. I think I'll do some research on them.

They should be fed supplements of phytoplankton & organic foods, such as marine snow(as elweshomayor mentioned) or Selcon. They do well in groups(which would be sweet if you could car for them) & are filter feeders(just as most mollusks) & do best in an established aquarium. Will not take well to high ammonia/nitrate levels.

LA doesn't list any specific size tank. Probably because of their small size. LA also doesn't mention their max size, but sells the electric flame scallop at about 1" - 2.5".

well when it was in the back no because it was looking the other way lol
but now that ive moved it back yes. :D and its pretty awesome.

if your worried of it going in the back just place it in a way its somewhat locked between 2 rocks. If its not confortable it will slowly move but you will be able to tell and move it to another spot.

try to place it where there is a lot of flow.

I know scallops eat by suctioning water and expelling them through their siphone and capturing the food in their gills then passing it to their mouth. ( i think thats how it was..)so a high flow directed to them will make the eating job easier i think.

tank is almost a year, so tank maturity wont be a problem, ammonia always at 0 nitrates never go past 10
ahhh ok thanks for the tip, i think i will search for the electric flames if none have them for ill get the flames this weekend ill try to find the marine snow too

Electric flame scallops should have medium to high flow.

Can't wait to see it PC. :) Your tank seems like a good place for it.

    this one is mine :)

one thing that is going to bother you is that the electricity will not show on the camara. ( rarely am i able to get it to faintly show). lol i guess having an iphone camara helps too lol

ps.. almost forgot.. when you touch it, it will more than likely open and close... very fast.. ( quite scary lol it looks like its going to bite) just scare it enough for it to close tight. so you wont harm it when moving it.
