    Hi,

I would appreciate any insight!! I thank you in advance! :)

I have a 37 gallon fish only/live rock tank. It's been up and running for 17 days. I have one False Percula Clown, one Springer's Damsel and two scarlet hermit crabs. They are all very healthy, happy and eating well. The clown is tank raised, so he's just as tame and adorable as can be! The fish and crabs have been in the tank for 9 days. My local marine fish store has a very knowledgable and enthusiastic owner who told me as long as my water tested fine I could add two fish after the tank was running for one week. Everything seems to be going well, but I have some questions regarding cycling...

1.) When do I know the cycle is over? My water tests out at: pH - 8.0, ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0 and nitrate - 0. Salinity is 1.024.
Since the tank was set up (17 days ago) I've been religiously testing the water, like every day, and the levels have never changed. I know with the cycle the ammonia is supposed to spike and then fall...but nothing has moved.

2.) What does algae growth mean? I have diatom algae all over the sand, live rocks, glass, plants, etc. I also have long hair algae growing on the glass.

3.) Are there any fish that like to eat algae but can live in 37 gallons? I would looove to have a flame angelfish, but I don't know if I have a large enough tank.

4.) I appear to have inherited two (I've only seen two) small bristle worms in my live rock. I've read differing opinions on whether they are good or bad. Any opinions?

5.) Could I have a female lyretail or sunburst anthias in my 37 gallon tank with my false percula and springer's damsel?

Thank you so much! The questions seem to never stop coming...
