Cycle using RO Water

    There salinty is 1.018. And actually I ended up using water, sand and live rock from my existing 75. So basically I took a piece from my 75 and put it in the 20.

    salinty is 1.018 Thats still low work on getting it to around 1.025 ..

    You will still have die-off that can/will trigger a cycle.. JMHO,
    But I would go with the raw shrimp, wait a few weeks.. Go slow..
    Almost like setting up a new tank.. When you changed your sand over you'll be surprised
    at what it could have done to it.. And die-off from your liverock..

    LOL I know it is hard to go slow, but it will be worth it in the long run.... trust us. if your LFS is keeping there water @ 1.018 then yes you should mix your own invest in a refractometer 40 bucks will save you alot of head ache. get a piece of table shrimp and wait it out.
