Scooter Blennys are not actual Blennys but Dragonets like a Mandarins. They are Pod eaters and need a good base of Pods. So sorry not the best first fish

what if the scooter will accept frozen, and flake? the owner of my lfs let me watch him eat some brine shrimp, he ate it very fast like he loved it.

also what do you all feed your fish?i know alot of fish require diff. diets, but what are some good brands? (frozen, and pellet,or flake)

i got them hermits and man they went to town instantly on the diatom algae. they leave a trail of bleach white sand behind them.

That's the best test you can do. If it is accepting brine shrimp make sure that is what you feed him in your tank

I feed a little bit of everything. Mysis, Seaweed, Pellet, Flake, Cyclope eez
I typically choose Flake and pellet that is high in speralina primarily Ocean nutrition products.

well i just got back from the LFS with some brine shrimp enriched with spirulina(spelling). i put it in a glass canning jar and lowered it in the tank this was the moment of truth. would the scooter eat it as he did in the store. i took about 15 min but he eventully figured out that the jar would not eat him. he went in and began to chow down with a smile on his face. cant tell you how excited i am! i dodged a bullet on this one!
    ill post pics soon!!

I have owned 4 dragonets and my lifetime and never had a problem training them to eat frozen foods never tried pellets but thats even better. A refugium would def. help you with pod population.

Could you explain to me how a refugium would increase live pods in the main system. Since with most designs there is a pump between the refugium and the main tank. Pods and impellers don't mix
