And I totally would if it was all completely new, I just don't know if the tank will even have a cycle. But I think I will just be on the safe side and wait a bit to see what happens. There are currently corals IN the tank now, they were just part of the LR so i'll just watch them I suppose there is nothing I can really do about those, I tried to save some and put them in my tank and they are doing great.

That sounds like a good plan, let it run a couple weeks to see if you even have a cycle, then take it one step at a time while monitoring your water params. That will also give you time to figure out your skimmer and get your scape just how you want it.

no no its not only for new tanks. this would be ideal for your situation. just a thought.

I used it on my 4 year old tank when i switched media in my reactor.

but check this video out, some intereting thoughts on cycling.

Don't forget that water doesn't hold that much beneficial bacteria...

I am currently trying this stuff in my 150. I am using the ammonium chloride to get ammonia into the tank. So far I am like on day 4ish. The ammonia does not fall as rapidly as he says but it falls a little more every day. Basically it gets cranked up to 2 ppm by dosing it and see where your at the next day. It went a couple of days falling down to 1 ppm and yesterday it was .5. When it is cycled completely you should be able to dose it to 2 ppm and the next day it should be zero. Preliminarily I think it is doing what it's supposed to but just not as fast as advertised. I only used 8 ounces though and not 12 that they recommend so that probably has something to do with it.

I ran the tank for two weeks and the ammonia and nitrite came up to 1 ppm and held there before I added this stuff. At least I can see something happening.
