Hey everyone. I am cycling a new 65g that has 95 lbs of live rock. Ammonia spike has come and gone now dealing with nitrite and nitrates.

I ordered 16 lbs of fiji premium which ill be getting tomorrow, I wanted to top everything off with these smaller pieces (it was a nano tank order).

I setup a 5g bucket with RODI water proper salinity, a heater and a 320gph flow pump. Am I missing anything? Going to change out 1/2 water or so every day or two.

    What does everyone think?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sound like the a good way to go, not sure if you need the heater, unless the temp is in the 50's and you are trying to maintain any hitch-hikers.

If this is dry rock I would just add it to the tank now and let it seed. Live cured rock I would also just add. I would only run it in a separate container if it's uncured rock with the potential for a lot of die off.

Just the way I would do it. :)

It's coming from Cali to NH, 2 day delivery. I should probably just give it a quick scrub and the ole nose test :)

Yeaaaah I think I'll let this cure for a week or so. I'll take the 3 bivalves and snail I got out of the deal though :)

If it's live rock you will need light on it. Not all day, but cycling on & off just as you would on your tank.

Good advice, I hadn't thought of that.

    Thanks!
