curing dry rock

    so I plan on cycling my tank with dry rock, sicne you do a alrge amount of water changes in this period do you use salt water or is it ok to keep it jsut brackish to save on salt cost?

    I thought cook and cure were interchangable, I think BRS said to cook the rock. So you dont do any WC durign a cycle? I know with all my FW tanks you had to do a few or the ammonia and nitrite would get so high that it would kill off the bacteria you were trying to grow. Thank you for the link to that thread!

    that is correct no water changes till almost the very end of your cycle.
