Ill need a CUC sometime, how many and what should I add?

FOWLR. predator tank, baby/small triggers, baby puffer, snowflake eel, goby. 75 gallon with 30 sump. Im using LR in the refugium, id like something to put there too. Im assuming the eel would eat a peppermint? I have a 150 gallon setup for when they outgrow so please no comments on that aspect.

The fish you've chosen pretty much precludes having a CUC. The triggers and the puffer will eat snails and crustaceans, and the SFE will eat crabs and shrimp.

So what do I do? Haha it seems like.one thing ruins alot of other things. Making me shy away from making a predator tank almost.

Anything with a shell that is too hard for the fish to crack has a good chance of surviving.

IME, you don't need a cleanup crew in a FOWLR. Good filtration and not letting food go uneaten goes a long way.

I used to keep a lot of gravel in my FOWLR tanks as well, but decided to try bare bottom when I set up the 300. I was very skeptical at first, but it's worked out great.

Starfish are generally not a good idea, unless your nitrates are very low. A cuc in a FOWLR would have to be huge to make much of a difference, and there should not be uneaten food floating around in the first place.

If you have a DSB, a sandsifter will be working against you, as the reason they "sift" is to consume the microfauna in the substrate.

As for preds and CUC's, all we keep are preds and we have no trouble keeping a CUC. It's all in the type of preds you keep.

You can contact reefcleaners.org and explain you tank setup and they will tell you what kind of clean up crew will work with your tank.

I did! They were very helpful. I spent 40 on a whole lot, my LFS sells snails for 2$ each! What a rip off.

You could try spaghetti worms, they are a good CUC and fish really don't bother them too much. Maybe a giant hermit crab?
